4TH ANNUAL BEER FOR A CURE WINNER

Tom Radzazki wins first place at Dick’s Brewing’s 4th Annual Beer for a Cure

CENTRALIA, WA –  A new goal was met at this year’s 4th Annual Beer for a Cure! Dick’s Brewing raised over $5,700 for American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lewis County on September 20, 2014. Over 200 guests were in attendance to support the fundraiser and bid on silent auction and raffle items, including the super raffle of two Seahawks theater style chairs. The brewery had over 65 homebrew entries this year, awarding five top winners in the blind judging competition.

Tom Rzadzki took home the top prize with a Black Rye IPA, and he also won fifth place. Tom will brew his winning batch on Dick’s Brewing system. The brewery will hold a release party for Tom’s beer and have the Black Rye IPA on tap at the brewery Tasting Room and NW Sausage & Deli. We would like to congratulate Phillip Gamroth, Ron Swena and Gordon Medley for winning second, third and fourth place respectively. Thank you to all the brewers, donors, volunteers and attendees who participated in this year’s Beer for a Cure. It was a huge success!

Dick’s Brewing will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary party on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 3 – 9 pm. We hope you can join us to usher in our 20th birthday, as well as continue to celebrate the beers we have loved for the last 20 years. The brewery will also be raising a pint of Dick’s Midnight Ride in honor of Founder, Dick Young.  Proceeds from the evening will be dedicated to Pope’s Kids Place in Centralia, WA in memory of Dick. We will have live music from the Backfire Band, food and raffle prizes. It will be an evening to remember! Cheers to 20 years!

Dick’s Brewing Company’s New Branding & I.P.A. Revamp

October 2nd, 2014

NEW LOGO, NEW PACKAGING, & REDESIGNED I.P.A. RECIPE

After 20 Years Dick’s Brewing Company Gets a New Look!

CENTRALIA, WA – After 20 years of brewing delicious beer Dick’s Brewing Company has given itself a little make over with a new logo, new packaging and a revamped Dick’s I.P.A. recipe!

Staying true to the original red diamond logo of Dick’s Brewing Company, the new design adds a little more pop and pizazz with an embellished “DICK’S BREWING COMPANY” design within a thicker red diamond. To keep the same feel the designer retained the original artwork adding a consistent border and location of the beer style to each label. The new Dick’s Brewing Company logo is located at the bottom of each and every label for consistent branding.

The new packaging was unveiled the summer of 2014 for only the Core Products of the brewery which include the flagship Dick Danger Ale, India Pale Ale, Golden Ale, Cream Stout, Lava Rock Porter, and Working Man’s Brown Ale. The new label design also includes the 20th Anniversary Black I.P.A. Midnight Ride. The remaining labels will hit the market throughout 2015.

Julie Young, the Owner of Dick’s Brewing Company has said, “The response to our new labels and new logo have been super positive! We are excited to be moving forward to usher in the new era of Dick’s Brewing Company while we continue to brew the beer that everyone has so faithfully enjoyed for the last 20 years.”

The new I.P.A. is brewed with the Northwest hop head in mind. Our NW I.P.A. has all the bitterness along with the late dose of Cascade, Centennial and Columbus hops that really come across in the nose and in the flavor. We hope you enjoy our revamped and redesigned I.P.A.

A HISTORY, A LEGACY, AND A VERY BRIGHT FUTURE

CELEBRATING 20 YEARS OF DICK’S BREWING COMPANY

Label_MidnightRideCENTRALIA, WA – It was over 20 years ago Dick Young started off as a humble home brewer, brewing in the back of Northwest Sausage & Deli. Since October 1994, Dick’s Brewing has grown from the flagship ale Dick Danger Ale to over 20 varieties of beer, a new brewery location and the 12 Man Pale Ale taking the Pacific Northwest by storm.

Dick Young started brewing as a home brewer in 1984. When he was not busy handcrafting smoked summer sausage and pepperoni at NW Sausage & Deli he was handcrafting small batches of beer. Dick built from scratch a three barrel brew house (which we still use today as our pilot system) to start designing and creating recipes in the back of the deli. The beer was so popular among Dick’s friends that he soon found himself exceeding the annual production limit for home brewers. In 1994, after many batches brewed, and many beers drank, Dick’s Brewing Company became a reality. In 2009, Dick’s Brewing Company moved from a 2,100 square foot building to a new brewery location on Galvin Road increasing our space to 18,000 square feet to support our growing production. Dick’s creative passion for brewing grew from just three recipes in 1994 to over twenty different styles in 2014. Sadly we lost Dick in 2009 and we continue his legacy by carrying on the passion for craft beer.

To celebrate our 20years of brewing delicious beer we have created a special 20th Anniversary beer, Dick’s Midnight Ride. Dick’s Midnight Ride is a trip to the dark side. Our robust, NW Style CDA is bursting with Cascade and Centennial Hops, perfectly balanced with a rich dark malt profile. It is rich, dark and malty like a porter with a hop profile that rivals the best Northwest IPA’s. Dick’s Midnight Ride will be released to the public on Friday, July 18, 2014. The Brewery will be hosting a 20th Anniversary Party to the public at the Brewery on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 3 – 8:30 pm. Dick’s Brew Crew created Midnight Ride to celebrate our journey of 20 years. With this special beer, we want to say “Thanks for a great ride and hold on because we have lots of miles left in the tank! “

All of us here at Dick’s are proud to continue the dream that our founder started, and we are proud to have you all along for the ride.

From all of us at Dick’s Brewing we say cheers and thank you!
